Meditation and Health
Meditation is medically accepted as a step by step practice used to relax the body, focus the mind, and to focus the person's attention to achieve a contemplative state of awareness. It's at the contemplative level where mind and body rejuvenation occurs and with regular practice this therapeutic form of treatment will have beneficial effects.
Advanced meditation techniques are used by specialised practitioners to assist the physical and mental healing process. Healing takes place when certain conditions are in play, one of these being a stress free environment, another is having a positive mental attitude and a strong belief in our ability as spiritual beings to help with
our own healing.
Science has proven that everything that exists within our reality is made up of energy, our body included. A lot of physical and mental issues can be resolved simply by restoring the flow of energy throughout our body. Let's use the analogy of the energy of electricity, which mostly we cannot see and occasionally we can in the form of lightening. It's energy that travels invisibly through wires and operates gadgets that use electricity or energy.
So it is with our physical and mental state. We are our consciousness, our reality is the universe as we perceive it, energy flows through the universe and flows through us. Our physical existence is due to our life force energy, when this energy becomes depleted
our physical body is discarded and we operate on another energy level.
It's when our energy is disrupted for long periods of time that our bodies become diseased. This break in energy is like pulling the plug on a light globe, it cannot provide light, it needs electrical energy. This is where meditation practices have shown positive results in assisting in the healing process.
